What is a redemption penalty?

A redemption penalty is a charge levied by a mortgage lender when a mortgage is repaid by the borrower before the agreed term. This happens when a house is remortgaged or sold off. The redemption penalty is a way that ensures the lender a profit if the mortgage is redeemed early.

Already starting to get ready for another hurricane season in Florida. Starts in June. Not sure how it will effect my real estate work. Tough business right now. So I enjoy taking a break and seeing what other people are up to. Enjoyed visiting your blog. Visit my site if you have a chance.
